Monika Schaedler is professor for
China’s economy and society with the School of International
Business at Bremen University of Applied Sciences. She
received her academic degrees in economics (diploma/ M.Sc.,
1979) and sinology (Ph.D., 1988) from the University of
Hamburg after studying in Berlin, Hamburg and Peking. Her
present research concentrates on China’s social politics, on
foreign business in China, cross-cultural aspects of
business, corporate social responsibility, management
issues, corporate culture and leadership in China. She also
accompanies her Bremen students’ six months-internships in
foreign and Chinese companies in China and takes care of
Chinese exchange students in Bremen. Among her recent
publications are articles on social security, human resource
management, corporate social responsibility and management
in China. |

Joachim Freimuth is professor for
business studies, human resource management and personnel
management with the School of International Business at
Bremen University of Applied Sciences. He studied economics,
business studies and pedagogics in Bremen and Landau. 1981
he received his doctor’s degree in economics. He gained
practical experience in human resource management in a
multinational company, in management and personnel
consulting as well as in the management of a company.
Working as freelance consultant since the mid-eighties, he
focuses on coaching, leadership, problem and conflict
moderation, management of change and organizational
development. From 2002 till 2004 he participated in a
research project on conflict management in Sino-German
economic cooperation at Bremen University of Applied
Sciences. His publications include all topics mentioned
above. |

Renate Krieg is lecturer for Chinese
society and social change with the
Centre for East Asian Studies at the Technical University
Dresden and the School of International Business at Bremen
University of Applied Sciences. She received her academic
degrees (M.A 1985, Ph.D., 1995) from the Free University
Berlin after studying in Berlin and Beijing. Her present
research concentrates on the impact of economic reforms in
China, and social change, on foreign business in China,
cross-cultural aspects of business, corporate social
responsibility, management issues, corporate culture and
leadership in China. Among her recent publications are
articles on social change, social security, human resource
management, corporate social responsibility and management
in China. |

LUO Minyan is lecturer in Chinese and
Business Studies with the School of International Business
at Bremen University of Applied Sciences. He was born and
grew up in Shanghai, where he studied German language and
literature studies. In the beginning of the eighties he
studied German literature and linguistics at Bremen
University. In 1988 he highly contributed to the foundation
of the Chinese and Business Studies at Bremen University of
Applied Sciences. Ever since, he has organized the
cooperation between Bremen University of Applied Sciences
and universities in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Involved in
several research projects located at Bremen University of
Applied Sciences, he strongly supported field research in
China. His publications comprise among others the linguistic
and cultural change in China. |

Constanze Mueller is a doctoral
student with the Department of Modern China Studies at
University of Cologne. She is a graduate in Chinese and
Business Studies from Bremen University of Applied Sciences.
For her graduation thesis she conducted field research in
Beijing. She gained work experience as shipping agent,
student assistant, in online marketing, with the Sino-German
Economic and Structural Reform Programme at Deutsche
Gesellschaft fuer Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) in Beijing
as well as at the GIGA Institute of Asian Studies, Hamburg.
Her publications include articles on Sino-African relations, online
communication and intellectual property issues in China. |
